September 2006 – Gmask
Professional, a new concept store targeted for business people
and professionals, has recently opened its doors to Filipinos.
This store is the first in the world of its kind and is
different from the Gmask Beauty Wrap concept in the sense that
it offers a more subtle, clean, and modern look primarily for
laptops, communicators, and PDA’s. "So many people have
approached us wanting to GMASK their laptops, but our films were
too small for laptops so that we had to connect two films to
cover one surface of a laptop", said Eric Chao, Marketing
Manager for Gmask. "So, finally, we decided that we need to come
up with bigger sheets and more executive designs that can cover
even 17" laptops without any lines in the middle. Additionally,
we developed a new material that has an EXTRA layer of clear
laminate film on top for extra protection. We offer this to the
customer at the same price as before without extra charge."

Gmask Professional also offers a
PROTECTION-only feature for executives who are
satisfied with their current laptop or gadget color scheme. This
means that using only a special transparent film from Japan,
Gmask staff can cover the entire laptop or PDA and it will look
the same as before, but will have the feature of being
scratch-resistant, weather, and sweat-resistant.

This is the 6th outlet of Gmask in the Philippines, marking a
landmark for the pioneering company. The first store was opened
in Glorietta only last May and to date, already more than 2,000
Filipinos have had their gadget Gmasked. The product and brand
also attracted attention from various TV and print media so that
Gmask was recently featured in TV shows such as the Lifestyle
Channel’s Goodfinds, Studio23’s US Girls, ANC’s Business and
Life features, GMA7’s Unang Hirit, and more. Magazines and
Newspapers also featured Gmask as a new way for Filipinos to
extend the life of their gadget, protect it, and express their
personality. Thus, giving life to the Gmask slogan "If
you love your Gadget – Protect, Personalize, Revitalize".
According to Eric Chao, Gmask is now accepting local and
international franchisees. "We wanted to prove that our business
concept works, that’s why we did not rush into franchising
before. When we accept franchisees, we must make sure, to our
utmost ability, that they are well-trained, that they will
handle the brand with care, and that the customers will get the
same satisfaction from each store anywhere in the Philippines.
Additionally, we must make sure, to out utmost ability, that the
franchisee will make a decent profit from his investment. Now
that we have already opened for 4 months, we have the track
record to PROVE our business model. So far, we have received
more than 200 inquiries and we are already into serious
discussions with some of them."
Further expansion plans are in the works and Gmask is soon to
launch a new and exciting add-on product which is currently
being kept under wraps. "It will be a delightful surprise for
our customers. We plan to bring in a unique Japanese product to
complement their Gmasked gadgets, so watch out for it!"
In the meantime, those who have waited a long time for their
laptops to be finally Gmasked can now visit the pioneering GMASK
PROFESSIONAL store in Greenbelt 1. One local celebrity,
Ms. Bubbles Paraiso, is the first Philippine customer of
Gmask Professional. Shown below is Ms. Paraiso proudly showing
off her GMASKED IBOOK. It was formerly a plain white, but now it
has become an exciting pink camouflage design. Just perfect for
her passion for pink.
